THE MINDFUL RESET: OUR FIRST HALF-DAY RETREAT IN BURTON (SUDBURY)

At Roots & Reeds, we recently held our very first half-day retreat near Burton - The Mindful Reset. It was a beautiful afternoon designed to give people space to slow down, reconnect, and learn more about supporting the nervous system through yoga, mindfulness, and rest.

WHY WE CREATED THE MINDFUL RESET

Modern life often leaves us stressed, over-stimulated, and running on empty. The Mindful Reset Retreat was created to offer a pause - a chance to step away from the daily rush and discover tools to regulate the nervous system. By bringing together yoga, restorative practices, and sound healing, the aim was to help people reset their energy and leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more balanced.


WHAT THE AFTERNOON LOOKED LIKE

The retreat took place at The Gasworks in Sudbury, a stunning venue surrounded by nature, perfect for switching off from everyday life. Here's a glimpse of what we did together:


  • Gentle yoga flow - to release tension and reconnect with the body.

  • Nervous System Education - simple, practical tips to create your own stress-relief toolkit.

  • Afternoon treats - nourishing snacks to enjoy together as a group.

  • Restorative yoga and guided meditation - deep rest practices to calm the mind and body.

  • Sound Bath - finishing the day with soothing vibrations to leave everyone feeling renewed.


THE TRANSFORMATION

Guests described leaving the retreat feeling "calm, grounded, and restored." Many saying it was the first time in a long while they had truly given themselves permission to rest. This is exactly what the Mindful Reset Retreat was designed for - to show that slowing down is not a luxury, but a necessity for health and wellbeing.
