THE BENEFITS OF YOGA NIDRA

Yoga Nidra — sometimes called “yogic sleep” — is one of the most powerful relaxation techniques you can experience. Unlike an active yoga class, Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation, usually done lying down, that brings deep rest to both the body and mind.

WHAT HAPPENS IN YOGA NIDRA?
You simply lie down, get comfortable, and are guided through different stages of relaxation: body awareness, breath awareness, opposites, and visualisation. You don’t need to “do” anything — just listen and rest.
The aim is to find deep states of relaxation whilst remaining conscious - ie rather than falling asleep. But don't worry if the first few times you do fall asleep! It takes practice to enter these states, and it might be that you need a short nap.
KEY BENEFITS OF YOGA NIDRA
Reduces stress – it deeply calms the nervous system.
Improves sleep – regular practice can ease insomnia and restlessness.
Balances emotions – helps you step away from overwhelm and find clarity.
Accessible to everyone – no movement or flexibility required.
Supports healing – research shows Yoga Nidra can help reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure, and improve wellbeing.
WHY TRY IT?
In today’s fast-paced world, most of us don’t get enough true rest. Yoga Nidra offers a unique opportunity to reset, recharge, and reconnect with yourself.
